Prof. Ravi Srivastav delivers lecture at CUK | KNO

Srinagar, Apr 20 (KNO) : Renowned economist, Professor Ravi Srivastava from Centre for Study of Regional Development (CSRD), JNU, New Delhi, delivered a special lecture in the department of Economics, Central University of Kashmir (CUK) on the topic “Employment crises and inequalities in quality and quantity of Jobs in India”.

Director Campus and Head of the Department of Economics, Prof. G. M. Bhat, faculty members, research scholars and students attended the lecture. Prof. Ravi Srivastava discussed the issue of low growth rate of employment extensively. Moreover, the expert cited evidences from studies conducted by NSSO, CMIE and Labour Bureau. “In addition to the growth challenges, the evidences point to a distressing employment situation faced by the Indian Economy.”

Earlier, Professor Srivastava had an extensive interaction with the research scholars and provided them with some valuable suggestions regarding their respective research areas.
